ARGGGG- WALKING THE PLANK !!

Saturday September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day!!!!  Muscle Element's own Priscilla Lucci decided to show her support for this day by describing the basic plank as well as demonstrating the perfect plank.  On top of that she is challenging you to how long you can hold your plank.   Take a picture of you doing your perfect plank, along with your longest time, tag muscle elements, and use the hashtag #priscillaplank

Arg - Walking the Plank
All athletes, ah em I mean Pirates face at some point–being told to walk the plank. This exercise, also known as THE PLANK is a very challenging exercise, working seemingly the entire body and mind, especially your abdominals and shoulders.

How long can you hold a plank, Matey. 

How to Do the Basic Plank

1.     Get in the push up position, only put your forearms on the ground instead of your hands. Your elbows should line up directly underneath your   shoulders. Toes on the ground.

2.     Squeeze your glutes and tighten your abdominals.

3.     Keep a neutral neck and spine.

4.     Create a straight, strong line from head to toes – a plank, if you will.

5.     Hold that position.
